For decades, rock layer in Negaunee Township has been on the radar of regional and
international geologists. Confirmed now to be the far-flung debris created by the impact of a
giant meteor that struck near what is now Sudbury, Ontario 1.85 billion years ago, this rock forms
an outcropping at the McClure Basin. Come hear the story of this incredible geological discovery
