The world premiere event of Thomas LaVoy’s original composition, “O Nata Lux”, and Griffin Candey’s arrangement of Sacred Harp traditional music, “Never Will Give Up My Shield”.
The Marquette Choral Society proudly presents its spring concert, "Sacred Gems: Music from America and Beyond". A world premiere event, featuring composer and Marquette native Thomas LaVoy's original choir composition "O Nata Lux", as well as new arrangements of Sacred Harp music, "Never Will Give Up My Shield" by Marquette composer Griffin Candey. It is a celebration of American spirituals that also includes selections from traditional Shaker music and Moses Hogan. Please join us at NMU's Reynolds Recital Hall for this free, all-ages concert.
