A old climber reminisces on 40 years of climbing rocks, ice and snow through a few “tall tales” and visual slides.
For over 40 years, Phil Watts, retired Professor Emeritus of Exercise Physiology at NMU, has climbed on rocks, snow and ice in the Upper Peninsula and beyond. In the early 1980’s he extended his climbing avocation into his professional life and became a world leader in climbing-related physiological research. Phil will present slides and a few “tall” tales from his decades of climbing in the high places. Hear about “The Five-Seven Blues” and “Big Dave in the Pickets”.
