The City of Marquette Office of Arts and Culture will be hosting a social and informational arts advocacy event on March 30th, from 6-8pm at the Ore Dock Brewing Co. (114 W Spring St)
The State of the Arts event aims to bring together
Artists
Organizations
Businesses
Community Leaders
Residents
Attendees will have the opportunity to share what they are working on, how to better partner and advocate for the arts, and what the most pressing needs are for the next 5-10 years.
As the City approaches the renewal of its 10-year Arts and Culture Master Plan, these conversations are an important step in making sure the creative community’s voice is heard. The State of the Arts event will include a short structured presentation that outlines the initiatives and resources provided by the City to support local creatives and culture bearers. Additionally, the event will provide ample time for attendees to contribute feedback and socialize.
The City of Marquette Office of Arts and Culture invites anyone with a vested interest in local arts and culture to attend the event. Whether attendees have concerns or wishes of their own to share or just want to listen in and learn more about what’s going on behind the scenes, they are encouraged to attend.
For more information about the event, see the event page or contact the Office of Arts & Culture with any questions at arts-culture@marquettemi.gov or (906) 228-0472.
