The Power of Words Project Mural on the side of BeWell building on Third and Ohio street has finally begun! Almost three years in the works, Marquette will be home to the eighth Power of Words mural.
Award winning American artist Mia Tavonatti heads up the Power of Words Project, fueled by her past personal artistic achievements (including two grand-prize winning years of ArtPrize) she has turned her efforts towards embedding creativity into communities and giving artists a place in society as masters of creative processes. With the Svelata Foundation, “she is determined to bridge the gap between non-artist and artist by educating society about the true nature of creativity”.
Four artists will be working around the clock for the next three weeks to complete the latest Power of Words Project mural. Stop by, check out their progress, and chat with them about how you can recover your own spark of creativity!
Stay tuned for more updates on the project and more information about the artists behind this sure to be stunning piece of public art!
