The Falling in Love with Marquette exhibit has come to a close. A celebration of the local area and community through art, the exhibit provided a platform for local artists of all ages and backgrounds to showcase their love and appreciation for Marquette. The exhibit featured work from October 5, 2022, to February 9, 2023.
Jennifer Tavernier won the People’s Choice award with her artwork “Upper Peninsula of Michigan”. Her piece was created using woodburning techniques on foraged birch bark. More of her work can be found at Zero Degrees Gallery on Third St.
City of Marquette’s City Hall (300 W Baraga Ave) will be hosting another Community Art Exhibit this Spring. Submissions for the exhibit will be accepted until March 17t h, and local artists of all ages are invited to drop off their ready-to-hang 2D art pieces at the City of Marquette Arts and Culture Center (217 N Front St) during office hours.
Signs of Spring will be on display March 22nd – May 30th and will feature another popular choice vote during the exhibit.
